Know any akamai college students from Hawaii? Akamai Workforce Initiative is accepting applications for its 2018 Akamai Internship Program.
The eight-week program offers college students from Hawaii an opportunity to gain a summer work experience at an observatory, company or scientific/technical facility in Hawaii. The program has placements for students from community colleges and four-year universities from a wide range of majors.
After completing a one-week resident intensive preparatory course in Hilo or Kahului, Maui, interns are carefully matched with a project and mentor. Akamai’s team and mentors are dedicated to ensuring a productive experience for the participants. Interns also get coaching on communications skills by presenting their work at the summer’s end symposium.
Interns are paid a $3,200 stipend and are provided with housing if needed, along with travel from their home island to the internship site.
After completing the program, interns are invited back for occasional workshops, connected to job opportunities and can apply for a second internship.
Applications are due Feb. 14, 2018. The program will take place from June 16 to Aug. 14.
